Farm scientists brief ryots on floriculture

PEDDAPALLI: A one-day awareness programme on floriculture was held at the National Thermal Power Corporation here on Friday.

NTPC-Ramagundam under its corporate social responsibility (community development) organised the awareness programme at vocational centre wherein around 45 farmers from nearby villages participated.

Speaking on the occasion, General Manager (HR) M S Ramesh asked the farmers to adopt latest technology and produce crops which had demand in the market. The programme would provide an excellent opportunity for farmers to know the nitty-gritty of floriculture, he opined. Later, he along with others distributed Marigold (banthi) and Chrysanthemum (chamanthi) saplings to the farmers.

A team led by Dr A Srinivas, senior scientist from Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University, Ramagiri, spoke on the subject and asked the farmers to go for floriculture on scientific way and earn handsomely. CSR officials N Prasad Rao, V Yugender Rao and CRECH-E-Voice members and others present on the occasion.
