FASTag comes into force in erstwhile Nizamabad

NHAI officials creating awareness to vehicle owners on fastag at Indalwai toll plaza on sunday

Nizamabad: The implementation of the FASTag services at the toll booths on NH44 was a smooth affair at the booths near Indalwai and Bhiknoor in the erstwhile Nizamabad district on Sunday. At Indlawai, cash was accepted only at two lines, while the remaining eight lines were dedicated to the FASTag operated vehicles. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) P D Tharun visited Indalwai toll plaza and inspected the implementation of services. He said that the centre had introduced the FASTag services to avoid queues at toll plazas.

Manager of Indalwai toll plaza, Chandramohan said that out of 10 queue lines, eight lines allocated to FASTag services and remaining two lines were collecting cash. He said that till now nearly 40 per cent of vehicles are utilising the FASTag facility. The Bhiknoor toll plaza of Kamareddy district also implemented FASTag from Sunday, National Highways authority officials supervised the implementation of FASTag services.
