Fintech Forum to be launched on September 17

Hyderabad is seeing a lot of traction in the fintech segment due to the presence of large banking and insurance players, startups and also the insurance regulator IRDAI.

Hyderabad: Fintech Forum, an industry body, will be launched on September 17. About 300 members including the likes of TCS, Infosys and others related to BFSI segment have already enrolled. This will foster good practices in the domain, said IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan.

Hyderabad is seeing a lot of traction in the fintech segment due to the presence of large banking and insurance players, startups and also the insurance regulator IRDAI. The forum will be a platform to showcase the technology developments happening in the segment.  It will give a voice to the fintech stakeholders, he said.

Several academic institutions will also be part of the forum, he said.

Insurance regulator IRDAI, which is headquartered in Hyderabad, has got the nod from the RBI to start insurance regulatory sandbox.  It will allow the members discuss new developments.  Announcements pertaining to the sandbox and others will be done that day when the forum will be officially launched, he said.
