TS Fire department try to contain the fire erupted at Dera Sacha Sauda ashram in Nalgonda.

Nalgonda: Fire engulfed the controversial land owned by Dera Sacha Sauda Ashram at Velinedu village of Chital mandal in Nalgonda district on Friday.

No loss of life and property was reported in the mishap. Controversial guru Gurmeet Dera Baba owned 55 acres of land beside National Highway 65 at Veminedu village.

The fire accident in the ashram created sensation in the district. Local people suspect someone might have intentionally set fire on the premises of the ashram.

Alerted by the local people, fire fighting machines rushed to the ashram from Chityal and brought the fire under control.

It is learnt that the Revenue Officials during an inquiry had found that nine acres were assigned land and remaining was purchased by the ashram organisers from local farmers.
