Warangal: Fireworks sellers must take permission from city police

Warangal: Police commissioner G Sudheer Babu has asked the traders to submit applications for setting up the temporary fireworks stalls to sell the fireworks on the occasion of Diwali.

He said that Vivekananda junior college, Warangal, Kakatiya degree college and Government junior college, Hanamkonda, Venkatalaxmi vegetable market and Bapuji nagar, Kazipet, have been designated as venues for selling the fireworks.

“Interested traders must obtain no objection certificate (NOC) from the GWMC as well as Fire department and draw a challan of Rs 500 in the name of police department from SBI and submit the application to the police by October 14 to get the permission,” he said.

Scrutiny of the applications and allotment of the shops will be done on October 16. The shops will be allotted through the draw of lots system.

The traders have also been asked to take all precautionary measures to avoid the fire mishaps.

“Action will be taken on those who sell the fireworks at other than  the designated places,” the CP warned.
