Follow traffic rules to avoid accidents, says RV Karnan

CCTV cameras will be installed at newly created traffic islands

Mancherial: Collector RV Karnan and Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal inaugurated traffic signal system at Venkateshwara theatre and Laxmi Talkies junction in Mancherial on Tuesday. They also handed over gadgets used by police for regularising traffic.

Karnan appreciated traffic police for building the system at the busy junction and asked them to take steps to ease growing traffic in the town.

He requested the public to follow road safety norms and avoid accidents. He assured traffic police to grant funds for installing similar facility in other areas if required.

Duggal said creation of traffic signal system always becomes part of a town’s history as people observe the system every day while using roads.

He thanked Collector for sanctioning funds for building the system and hoped that the facility would help in reducing road mishaps. He said CCTV cameras would also be installed at the newly created traffic islands.

Mancherial Deputy Commissioner MS Venugopal Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Police K Seetaramulu, M Venkataramana and Chetana; trainee IPS officer Sarath Chandra, Mancherial Traffic Inspector G Satheesh Kumar and public representatives were present.
