Hyderabad: Three special teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) will examine the raw material that will be used to prepare food for US President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump during her stay at Hyderabad.
Ivanka is scheduled to take part in the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) summit, which begins at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Madhapur from November 28. The summit will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
An official said that each team comprising five officials, who regularly deal with cases relating to toxicology at the FSL, will not only check the raw material that will be used for cooking food but also the food that will be served at the main venue and Taj Falaknuma where dinner will be hosted for her.
One more team will also check the food items at the hotel in Madhapur where Ivanka will check in, an official said. Personnel from Special Branch of Hyderabad and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates will assist these teams.
“This is part of a routine process whenever a high-profile dignitary visits the city. It’s part of the protocol to check the food items,” the official said.
Additional Director-General of Police Ravi Gupta, who is also in charge of FSL, visited the lab a few days ago and took stock of the situation.
