Vijayawada: Former Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Lakshminarayana, on Sunday joined the Jana Sena Party along with his brother and former Vice-Chancellor Rajagopal. The decision was taken by Lakshminarayana after holding a meeting with JSP chief Pawan Kalyan on various issues and putting an end to all speculation that he would be joining the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
JSP president and film star Pawan Kalyan formally took him into his party fold. Speaking on the occasion, the former CBI official said his decision to join JSP was based on the manifesto prepared by Pawan Kalyan. “Working becomes easier when you find people with a similar mindset. I decided to join JSP after looking into the entire process and the manifesto prepared by Pawan Kalyan. Let us take his ideas forward so that society can be benefitted.
Ultimately, public welfare is important,” Lakshminarayana said.
He was ready to contest in the April 11 elections if Pawan Kalyan wanted him to, he added. Pawan Kalyan said that he had wanted to work with Lakshminarayana ever since he founded the party but it could become a reality only now. Both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will go to polls on April 11, while counting of votes will take place on May 23.
