Foundation laid for Amaravati Administrative city

CM said the State govt had asked for Rs 16,000 crore under revenue deficit, the Central govt had given Rs 4,000 crore and will give another Rs 3,000 crore.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu requested the Central government to exempt the capital gains of Amaravati farmers, during the foundation stone laying function of Administrative city on Friday.

He said that Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Jaitley have been extending their support continuously towards the development process of the State. He said that the Special Category Status has become a sentimental issue for public. At this juncture, Jaitley has come up with alternative Special Package for the State. He thanked Jaitley for the Special Package.

He said that they had been working to fulfill the poll promises made during last general elections. CM said although the State government had asked for Rs 16,000 crore under revenue deficit, the Central government had given Rs 4,000 crore and promised to give another Rs 3,000 crore.

He said the Central government had given Rs 1,050 crore for development of backward areas and promised to sanction another Rs 1,050. Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Vijayawda airports would be extended, he added.

He hoped that a Railway zone and metro would come at Visakhapatnam. He said that the Polavaram, which was a dream and had become a reality.
