Hyderabad: Four policemen working with the Hyderabad city police reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 and are undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital.
An official confirmation is awaited from the Hyderabad City Police regarding this. According to sources, a sub inspector working at the Chilkalguda police station apart from three other constables from different police stations are believed to have tested positive for Covid-19.
The family members of the police sub inspector were also shifted to a hospital for quarantine after they reportedly showed symptoms of Covid-19. The police officials are now sending a few other constables working at Chilkalguda and other police stations for the Covid-19 test. The results are awaited.
On Wednesday night Dayakar Reddy, a constable working at the Kulsumpura police station died after contracting Covid-19. Following this, several policemen working at the Kulsumpura police station were sent for the Covid-19 test and all the policemen whose results were provided tested negative.
Meanwhile Hyderabad Commissioner Anjani Kumar is visiting the Kulsumpura police station on Saturday afternoon. A two minute silence is being observed from 12 noon as a mark of respect to Dayakar Reddy, the constable who died of Covid-19 on Wednesday night.
