Gang of bike lifters busted in Telangana

Medak: Toopran police nabbed four bike lifters and recovered 10 two-wheelers worth Rs 5 lakh from them on Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Sampangi Srinivas, Sampangi Suresh, Bodas Ramu and Ponnam Prabhakar.  While the first two are residents of Gundreddypally, the latter are natives of Ravelli and Chetla Tummalapally villages respectively.

Producing the accused before the media in Toopran, DSP J Bhaskar said the accused were moving suspiciously at Allapur toll-plaza at 5 am on Tuesday. Habituated to a luxurious life, the four youth aged below 25 years had started lifting bikes from Secunderabad Railway Station and the towns of Medchal and Toopran during the past few months. The DSP said that cases of bikes missing were reported from Secunderabad Police Station, Gopalapuram Police Station and Medchal and Toopran.
