Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Friday said that providing jobs to 10,000 unemployed youths in Karimnagar town was his main aim.

Stating that a number of IT companies were coming forward to set up their units in Karimangar IT Tower, the Minister said plans were on the cards to develop the IT Tower as IT zone to create more jobs for local youths.

“This has been included in the TRS’ election manifesto for Karimnagar Municipal Corporation polls,” the Minister said, while unvealing the manifesto to media persons at a press conference here.

He said Karimnagar would turn into a popular tourism spot once Manair river front project was completed. “It would be like Universal Studios and 6,000 to 10,000 people would get employment. Works on the project would start on March 15,” he added.

Kamalakar promised to supply water every day to the residents of Karimangar town in the coming three months and round-the-clock water supply within six months.

When asked about the delay in supply of round-the-clock water, Minister said previous Congress government had promised to supply water round-the-clock but not much work was done. “The works started only after the TRS came to power in the State,” he said, adding that beside laying new pipeline, construction of eight overhead water tanks, balancing reservoir at Satavahana University and a tank at Markfed Grounds were also completed.

Promising to take all responsibilities including development of the town, Kamalakar appealed the people to vote for TRS candidates in municipal polls. Corruption free and fair services would be provided to people of the town, he said.

Around Rs 700 crore worth works were under progress in the town and efforts were being made to develop Karimnagar among top two cities in the State, he said.

Talking about Opposition parties’ allegation that TRS had entered into a secret understanding with AIMIM, he asked as to how was it possible for the ruling party to enter into an understanding with AIMIM, which was contesting in only eight divisions.

BJP leaders, who provoke the people in the name of religion, were trying to misguide the public. However, development of the town was possible only with TRS, so, people should elect all TRS corporators if they want to continue developmental activities, he added.
