Hyderabad: Networking, plenary sessions, breakout sessions, Master classes, one-on-ones, inspiring talks – everything is happening at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) which got down to business on Wednesday after the glittering inaugural ceremony on Tuesday.
While Advisor to the US President Ivanka Trump, Cherie Blair, founder of the Cherie Blaire Foundation for Women, Chanda Kochhar, CEO, ICICI Bank and others were part of a plenary session on ‘We Can Do It! Innovations in Workforce Development and Skills Training’, moderated by IT Minister KT Rama Rao in the morning, more such sessions are scheduled through the day.
Quite a few known names from other fields, from actors Ram Charan and Aditi Rao Hydari, Pullela Gopichand, Sania Mirza, Mithali Raj and Harsha Bhogle, just to mention a few, are slated to participate these sessions.
Announcements, press conferences and prize distribution to winners of different competitions too are on simultaneously.
Hyderabad had its moment of pride when five of its startups were among 10 winning startups at the UberEXCHANGE startup mentorship programme. Their names, selected by Uber in partnership with T-Hub were announced by IT Minister KT Rama Rao.
Later in the day, the Global Entrepreneurship Network is expected to announce a series of policy panel roundtables to support policymakers throughout India and explore innovation public sector approaches to stimulating new firm formation and growth.
The Wadhwani Foundation’s flagship initiative, the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) is also slated to launch a Startup HelpDesk for Entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs at the GES on Wednesday.
