Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Central Zone officials on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for failing to fill up trenches that were dug up to lay cables.
The civic body had earlier warned all companies and agencies to complete road restoration works within the specified time, failing which criminal cases would be booked against them.
Accordingly, GHMC officials on Thursday lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police against L&T which had taken permission for laying cables from RBI Quarters to Krishna Kant Park for setting up its tower.
The road restoration works were to be completed by May last week. Despite oral communication and notice, the company failed to complete the works, said GHMC Central Zone Commissioner D. Harichandana.
“There is every possibility of road users falling into the trench, especially during the rains. Sensing danger, we lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police station against L&T,” she said.
As a precautionary measure, GHMC is now taking up the road restoration works and filling up the trenches in the area.
In another development, a case has reportedly been booked against a telecommunications company with S.R.Nagar Police for failing to complete road restoration works within the stipulated time.
