Hyderabad: After a resident complained about distractive display boards being used by jewellery outlets and malls, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) levied penalty on three malls in Serilingampally zone.
GHMC Serilingampally Zone Commissioner D Harichandana tweeted that Rs 50,000 penalty each was levied on three malls for using digital display boards and violating the rules.
Vikas, a twitter user had raised the issue of onscreen board being used by a jewellery outlet at Madinaguda. He said it was distracting and appealed Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar to initiate action as the distractive boards could cause accidents.
Arvind Kumar then directed the GHMC Serilingampally Zone Commissioner to launch a drive on unauthorised e-billboards and hoardings.
