Hyderabad: To ensure hassle free movement of traffic in view of the diversions imposed at Oliphant Bridge in Secunderabad and Maitrivanam junction at Ameerpet for the ongoing Metro Rail works, various departments have been working in tandem, said the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Officials on Saturday visited the work sites and inspected the arrangements put in place to avoid inconvenience for commuters during the period of traffic diversions. In a press release issued here, the civic body said flex posters and signboards were sufficiently arranged and the South Central Railway too has kept up announcements inside and outside the precincts of Secunderabad station to forewarn those alighting from trains about the traffic diversions.

The road patch works were attended and recarpeting done while the debris was lifted to increase the carriageway apart from addressing the issues of water logging. As dustbins were found to be obstructing the traffic movement at two places, they were removed and a special drive has been taken to remove footpath encroachments, the release said.
