Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation will observe February 14 – Valentine’s Day as Garbage Divorce Day by involving around 45,000 self-help groups in Swachh Survekshan 2018.
During a meeting here on Friday, GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy interacted with Swachh Dhooth members and enquired about the coordination with households and appreciated their efforts.
He directed them to interact with the households to download the Swachh App for effective implementation of Swachh Survekshan.
The Commissioner stressed that Swachh Dhooth App download was top priority and an sms on important points of Swachh Survekshan to all officials concerned.
Reddy also directed all department heads to personally coordinate with Swachh Dhooth members to ensure best results and informed that Swachh Survekshan survey teams would visit almost all 150 wards. He asked officials to be alert and coordinate with teams for proper response.
In view of the Swachh Survekshan ranking, the GHMC has decided to name colonies and houses segregating dry and wet waste effectively as Swachh Colonies and Swachh Nivas or Gruhas.
The colonies and houses will be permitted to install a smart sign board, indicating them as swachh colonies. All the municipal circle offices have been instructed to identify such colonies and houses and permit installation of swachh sign boards.
