Hyderabad: Winter has already set in across most parts of the country, including Telangana. So much so that many weather monitoring stations in the State have begun recording minimum temperatures much below the normal levels.

“Minimum temperature is likely to be below normal by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius at isolated places over Telangana for the next 48 hours,” read the forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to meteorologists, the prevailing weather conditions were due to the flow of northeasterly winds over the State. “The minimum temperature is recorded below normal by at least two degrees Celsius over many parts of the State,” YK Reddy, Director, IMD, said, adding that the coldest parts of the State were in the north and central districts of Telangana.

In the last 24 hours, the coldest area was Ginnedari in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district where the minimum temperature plummeted to 5.6 degrees Celsius.
