Global protests on LG Polymers incident on Friday

Visakhapatnam: There will be protests at global level on the styrene gas leak incident at LG Polymers on Friday on the occasion of World Environment Day.

CITU State president Ch. Narasinga Rao said that a video conference was held on Wednesday evening by the CITU leaders with the representatives of South Korea, Nepal, Hong Kong, and India (Gujarat Health Network) in which it was opined that the LG Polymers incident was similar to the Bhopal gas tragedy which caused irreparable damage. There was need to fight unitedly at international level to prevent recurrence of LG Polymers type accidents, they felt.

“They also came to an understanding that an international seminar should be held in Visakhapatnam after the corona pandemic subsides.

Arrangements are in progress in ten countries to organise protests,” he revealed.
