Go digital way

Customers will get a chance to interact and learn more about cashless economy.

Warangal Urban: As part of an initiative of the Union government to promote digital or cashless economy across the country, a one-day ‘Digi Dhan Mela’ will be conducted at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari will inaugurate the Mela.

District Collector Amrapali Kata has inspected the arrangements for the Mela. According to the officials, the visitors will be informed about the advantages of the use of cashless economy and the methods to switch over to the digital mode of cash transactions.

Representatives of banks, common service centres, telecom companies, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIAI), corporate companies and private digital payment services will participate in the Mela.

They would explain to consumers and merchants the mechanism and method to adopt and use the mode of digital payment. The visitors can also open bank accounts and also enrol for Aadhaar card. The campaign also aims to sensitise merchants and vendors on the use of EPS. Nearly 80 stalls provided with Wi-Fi internet service are coming up at the Mela, said an official.
