Hyderabad: Furniture market is getting personalised as buyers want products that suit their preferences and lifestyle. Godrej Interio is focusing on personalisation across its product categories. The company sees almost 50 per cent of its buyers seeking it.
The company finds buyers from the office and residential space dominating the overall revenues of the company while healthcare sector is also picking up fast. The company has a range of products in its offerings that include 30 models of sofa sets, 25 models of beds, 15 models of dining tables and modular kitchen. Personalisation or customisation is in demand across these segments.
Godrej Interio which currently holds 15 per cent market share in the organised furniture market in India is looking at 15-20 per cent annual growth in its business on par with the industry growth. Furniture market in India is valued at Rs 75,000 crore today of which 80 per cent still accounts for the unorganised sector, said Subodh Kumar Mehta,sr VP, Marketing and Sales, B2C, Godrej Interio.
The company is making efforts strengthen its retail presence across the country by March 2020. Of the new stores that will come up, Telangana will have at least four more large stores by then. Godrej has 250 exclusive showrooms and 800 dealers in India. It has seven manufacturing units across the country and operates warehouses in all key hubs including a 3 lakh sq ft warehouse at Kompally in Hyderabad.
The Rs 3,000-crore revenue company is planning to tap the opportunities through e-commerce and is readying a platform in the next few months.
