Gold stolen from former CBI official VV Lakshminarayana’s Hyderabad residence

The exact date or time of the burglary is yet to be known, police sources said the senior IPS officer's family had approached the police on Saturday.

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons allegedly stole gold ornaments worth about Rs.7 lakh from the residence of former Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and senior IPS official VV Lakshminarayana at Banjara Hills here.

Lakshminarayana is currently working in Maharashtra as an Additional Director General of Police.

Though the exact date or time of the burglary is yet to be known, police sources said the senior IPS officer’s family had approached the police on Saturday. His wife reportedly told the police that gold ornaments weighing about one kilo and worth at least Rs.7 lakh had gone missing from the house.

The Banjara Hills police who are yet to book a case have started investigating the incident from all angles, including the possible involvement of domestic helps in the house.
