Mancherial: Government Whip Nallala Odelu launched a trial run of drinking water from a pump house belonging to Mission Bhagiratha scheme aimed at providing drinking water to households of Mancherial and Chenur Assembly constituencies, at Yellampalli project near Gudipet village in Hajipur mandal on Monday. He was joined by Collector RV Karnan.
Speaking on the occasion, Odelu said that Mission Bhagiratha was a prestigious scheme taken up by TRS government aiming at supplying potable drinking water to all households in the State round the clock. He informed that officials of this scheme, Irrigation and Rural Water Supply departments strove hard and met the deadline set for completing the works.
The Whip was all praise for Collector for convening review meetings with officials concerned in order to expedite works of Mission Bhagiratha. He stated that the drinking water would soon be provided to all households on a 24X7 basis.
Collector said that one of the three motors installed at the pump house was tested during the trial run. Odelu later inspected the performance of a filter bed and works relating to pipelines of the scheme at the similar location.
He stated that a pump was created with a capacity of filtering 70 lakh litres. The purified water would be pumped to a balancing reservoir built with a storage capacity of 15 lakh litres on Bugga gutta (hillock) from where the drinking water is supplied to villages of the two Constituencies.
District Revenue Officer Priyanka, Mission Bhagiratha Superintendent Engineer Prakash Rao, Deputy Engineer Krishna, Executive Engineer Srinivas and NPDCL SE Ramesh Babu and other officials were present.
