South actor Akshara Gowda’s dream role would be something that leaves a huge impact on the audience. “The audience must forget that it’s me and only think of the character I’m portraying. I think Benedict Cumberbatch does it perfectly in his movies and TV shows. Having said that, people will be able to see a different side of me in Soorpanagai. If you’re used to seeing me only as a glamorous actor, be prepared to be shocked,” says Akshara.
Akshara is known for her movie Arrambam with actor Ajith. The starlet had also played a brief role in Vijay’s Thuppakki. She is now awaiting the release of director Caarthick Raju’s Soorpanagai. Akshara is also starring in Aha’s web shows Masti’s 2 and Mix Up. Apart from that, she is in talks for a couple of other Tamil projects. “Acting happened to me accidentally while I was modelling. But right now, I can’t think of anything else that makes me as happy as I am when I am in front of the camera. I tell my friends that I would love to be acting till my last breath. I would probably be 90 years old and die on the sets of a film,” she feels.
Akshara gets inspired by each and every person she meets. “Small acts of kindness by people leaves me feeling amazing. When it comes to acting, Meryl Streep is my biggest inspiration. Ajith sir inspires me by his humbleness and impeccable timing on sets. Nagarjuna sir inspires me by his fitness,” she shares.
There is no doubt that Akshara is a stunner. So, what are some beauty hacks she swears by? “Use sunscreen and moisturiser with vitamin C. For a glowing face, I dip my face in a bowl of ice and water. I sometimes wash my hair with beer,” she replies.
Akshara spent the initial days of the lockdown getting enough sleep and rest. Being a cleanliness freak, she soon picked up the broom and started cleaning and dusting every corner of her home. “I have been reading books and watching TV shows. Most importantly, I’m making sure I’m keeping myself fit by doing yoga and cardio. These tough times have taught us that nothing is more essential than our physical and mental health. Hence, I have also been meditating and writing,” concludes Akshara.
