Adilabad: Former Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, currently on a tour abroad, brought respite to a blood cancer patient from Adilabad by promising to bear her medical expenses of Rs 25 lakh.

On Saturday, the former Minister responded to a WhatsApp message sent by Gadge Deepak, a youngster from Echoda mandal, about the plight of Suryavamshi Jyothi. Deepak told Telangana Today that Harish Rao assured to pay the medical expenses of Rs 25 lakh required for treating the girl who was diagnosed with the deadly disease.

He suggested the girl and her parents meet his personal assistant Venkateshwarlu who would assist them in doing the needful. He then spoke to the Resident Medical Officer of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, to extend all medical services and investigations to the patient for free.

The parents expressed gratitude to the TRS leader and said his gesture brought great relief to them. They said they were struggling to treat their daughter because of their weak financial background. They also said Harish Rao lived up to their expectations by coming to their rescue.
