Sangareddy: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao has promised those who participated in the separate statehood movement that they would be given political opportunities at various levels.
The Minister met former MLA R Satyanarayana, who spearheaded the Telangana movement in erstwhile Medak district, in Sangareddy on Friday.

As the former legislator had raised the issue of TRS ignoring the people who fought for Telangana, Harish Rao along with TRS candidate from Sangareddy Assembly constituency Chintha Prabhakar met Satyanarayana at his residence.

Harish Rao instructed Chintha Prabhakar to give importance to people who fought for Telangana during the election campaign and also post elections. He also appealed to Satyanarayana to work for the victory of the TRS candidate by putting all the differences aside until the elections were completed.

Satyanarayana had alleged that a section of TRS leaders had been suppressing the people who took part actively during Telangana agitation.

Later, Harish Rao also met former MLA from Sangareddy and senior BJP leader K Satyanarayana, who also contested from Patancheru Assembly constituency on BJP ticket in 2009, at his residence in Patancheru on Friday afternoon. He requested the BJP leader to join TRS offering to provide him a prominent role in the party. Satyanarayana, who has been staying away from BJP for quite some time, has responded positively.
