Hyderabad: The government is committed to fulfilling its poll promises and is tirelessly working, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao said on Tuesday while welcoming Mahabubnagar municipal chairman from Congress Radha Amar and five Congress corporators into the TRS fold.
“If we fail to work for the people, we will face their wrath… Mahbubnagar was utterly neglected during the TDP and Congress rule and they were unable to complete irrigation projects even after adopting the backward district,” Rao said at TRS Bhavan. He also said migration stopped from the district due to the measures taken by the TRS government. All irrigation projects in the district will be complete in a year despite opposition parties creating hurdles, he said. Rao questioned why the earlier governments did not complete the Kalwakurthy lift irrigation project during their regime.
“Congress leaders got the confidence on TRS over completion of irrigation projects and development of the State, hence they are joining TRS,” he said.
Talking about providing employment to the youth, Rao said 28,300 posts were filled in the last two and half years and notifications will be released soon for another 11,000 posts. He also said the government will shortly release DSC to fill teacher posts and assured that one lakh posts will be filled in TRS’ five-year tenure.
