Yadadri-Bhongir: Collector Anitha Ramachandran on Tuesday warned that there would be zero tolerance for field-level staff who are found showing negligence in implementation of the Haritha Haram programme.

Reviewing the progress of plantation of saplings under the Haritha Haram programme, the Collector expressed strong dissatisfaction with district officials as the district stands at the 25th place in the State in implementation of of the programme under the NREGP scheme. She pointed out that only 70 per cent of the set target was achieved in Yadagirigutta mandal while just 28 per cent was achieved in Valigionda mandal.

She also expressed anger over the poor performance by the officials concerned even though they have sufficient staff. Stating that the State government was extending the required funds for works pertaining to digging of pits and plantation of saplings, she questioned the officials and field staff for not achieving the target. “We should work as per the prepared action plan.

The officials and field staff should change their attitude and improve their performance in a week. Action would be taken against the erring staff”, she warned.

The Collector also underlined the need to achieve 50 per cent target in plantation of saplings in all mandals by October. Also, required measures should be taken up for protecting the samplings planted in the district, she said, and directed the officials to involve private educational institutions and industries in the Haritha Haram programme without fail.
