Heavy rains disrupt train services in Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: Train services in East Coast Railway jurisdiction were disrupted due to heavy rains which resulted in floods in Daikalu-Ambadola section of Rayagada-Titlagarh line and wash out of railway track. Several trains were either cancelled, diverted or short-terminated on Wednesday.

The trains cancelled on the day include Rourkela- Jagdalpur Express leaving Rourkela , Jagdalpur- Rourkela Express leaving Jagdalpur, Visakhapatnam-Korba Express leaving Visakhapatnam, Korba – Visakhapatnam leaving Korba, the Durg- Visakhapatnam passenger in both the directions, and Raipur-Visakhapatnam -Raipur Passengers in both directions. The Sambalpur-Koraput-Sambalpur Passengers leaving on Thursday in both directions are also cancelled.

The trains diverted include 12844 Ahmedabad-Puri Express on Monday via Titlagarh-Sambalpur-Angul-Khurda Road; 12843 Puri-Ahmedabad Express on Tuesday via Duvvada-Balharshah-Nagpur; 18638 Bengaluru Cantt-Hatia Express on Tuesday from Rayagada via Vizianagaram -Khurda Road-Angul-Sambalpur, Dhanbad-Alleppey Express on Tuesday from Bargarh via Sambalpur-Angul-Khurda Road-Palasa-Vijayanagaram, and 12807 Visakhapatnam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Express on Wednesday via Duvvada-Balharshah-Nagpur.
