Hyderabad: A struggling Hyderabad FC, under assistant coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo, will look to play for pride as they meet in-form Odisha FC in the ISL 2019-20 match at the GMC Balayogi Athletic stadium on Wednesday.
The ISL debutants parted ways with head coach Phi Brown after managing to score just five points from 12 matches. The bottom-placed HFC appointed Albert Roca for 2021-22 season and will be without the services of midfielder Marko Stankovic who was suspended in the last match.
The likes of Adil Khan and Rohit Kumar will have important roles to play against a guileful Odisha midfield. Hyderabad FC, which conceded the most number of goals this season will also need their defenders to step up.
Meanwhile, Odisha FC are on the back of three consecutive wins that propelled them to fourth on the points table. Josep Gombau’s side will know that another victory against Hyderabad FC will see them pull five points clear of the chasing pack.
“The next six games, all the players will play for their pride and prestige. They know we are not going to make it to the top four. But they want to give their best,” said Hyderabad’s assistant coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo.
