Kadapa: A two judge bench of the High court in Hyderabad comprising Justices SV Bhatt and Justice U Durga Prasad Rao permitted the conduct of ‘Pasuvulla Panduga’ in Rajampet of Kadapa district.

The bench made an order in a writ appeal filed by P Ramaniah and five others challenging the order of a single judge who directed that the authorities ensure that the event not to be held.

Earlier, at the instance of a local resident Pedda Suba Reddy, the judge had made the interim order.

The petitioner complained that the organisers of the event would scare the villagers by placing the cattle at the centre of the village which would jeopardise the residents.

The bench intervened and made it clear that the organisers shall take all necessary steps for the safety of villagers and ensure that no action that would amount to cruelty for the cattle should not be permitted. The bench also directed the entire event to be videotaped .
