Hyderabad: Health Minister, Dr C Laxma Reddy on Saturday inaugurated the Rs 6.50 crore Multi Detector Computer Tomography (MDCT), a faster and higher-end version of CT scan technology, and also unveiled expansion plans for the tertiary hospital.
As part of the plans, separate buildings to handle outpatient services and the two state-of-the-art structures to house hi-tech liver and kidney transplant centres will be coming-up in the next few months at NIMS.
Aimed at reducing burden of heavy patient-inflow at Niloufer Hospital, authorities have also decided to start tertiary Obstetrics and Gynaecology facilities at NIMS.
“Required infrastructure to set-up this facility for mother and child care will come-up at the earliest in NIMS campus,” Dr Laxma Reddy said, after inaugurating the MDCT scanning machine. The Health Minister pointed out that in the last few years, the State government had invested a lot to improve infrastructure at NIMS.
