Hyderabad facility to serve as the hub for Indian and Asian markets

Overseas Plans: Hogar Controls plans to invest in an assembly unit either in Vietnam or Taiwan.

Hyderabad: US-based Hogar Controls, a design-first smart home and building automation company delivering solutions for residential, hospitality and commercial markets, is going to strengthen both its R&D and manufacturing capabilities in Hyderabad.

Vishnu Reddy, CEO, Hogar Controls, told Telangana Today, “Hyderabad is the India headquarters for Hogar Controls. We currently have a team of 70 professionals across R&D, manufacturing, sales & marketing and support functions. All Hogar products are manufactured at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Hyderabad. Going forward, there will be more thrust on the Hyderabad facility, mostly on R&D and manufacturing. The facility will serve as the hub for Indian and Asian markets.”

In addition to this, in the next one year, Hogar Controls will also be investing in an assembly unit either in Vietnam or Taiwan.

When asked about the future product portfolio, he added, “At Hogar Controls, we constantly strive to expand our product portfolio. As a natural extension to our current product range, we plan to launch artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled smart touch switches and smart speaker with inbuilt smart home hub. And foray into hotel and hospitality solutions is also planned towards the end of 2019.”

Growing market
According to studies, the home automation market in India is expected to touch Rs 55,000 crores by 2024. Driving force for India home automation market are growing internet penetration, upgradation in network infrastructure, decreasing home automation products price and increasing disposable income. Home automation is one of the most attractive features for general users. At present, it is not limited to metro cities only, but this market has great potential in tier I and tier II cities too.

He emphasises, “Our key focus area is the home segment. However, we do see prospects emerging for automation in the commercial office space and the hospitality segment. Our aim is to be a holistic automation solutions provider.”

Hogar has so far launched 11 products across smart, touch, enviro and security series. In its portfolio, Controls Smart Series covers controlling lights, temperature, curtains, music and TV. The Touch Series comprises of a range of touch panels with a collection of switches, dimmers and scene controller that will give life to boring walls. The touch panels come in a sleek glass panel design and a smooth and precise circuit control on the wall. The Enviro Series has products that can convert the ‘environment’ into a complete smart home system.

Karan Kumar, co-founder and CTO, said, “Home automation products that are available in the market are aimed to simplify life, conserve energy and make homes “smart”. One of the most important differentiating factors is that we are the only brand to offer all technologies-Z-Wave, ZigBee, WiFi and Bluetooth-in our home automation products.”
