Hyderabad: Scientific Advisor to the Defence Minister and Director General, Missiles and Strategic Systems, G Satheesh Reddy, has been conferred with the prestigious National Design Award, an award constituted by the National Design Research Forum (NDRF), established by the Institution of Engineers.
At the national level, Reddy has made significant contributions towards indigenous design and development of diversified missile systems, guided weapons and avionics technologies.
Reddy, who also heads the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex, RCI Imarat, Hyderabad, is known for his sustained efforts that have led to advancement of aerospace technologies and industries in India. The top scientist is also known for contributing a lot towards self-sufficiency in Indian missile systems and technologies.
Reddy played a major role in indigenous design and development of state-of-the-art weapon systems, formulation of national policies, harnessing the research and innovation in industry, academia and Research and Development institutes. He will receive the award during the Indian Engineering Congress on December 21 at Chennai.
