Hyderabad: 500 saplings planted to celebrate sustainable green Diwali

Hyderabad: To celebrate a sustainable green Diwali this year, Kanha Shantivanam by Heartfulness, a non-profit organisation planted more than 500 saplings on Wednesday.

Kanha Shantivanam is also an ex-situ conservation centre, where rare and threatened plant species are being collected from far and wide within India. So far, more than 40,000 trees have already been planted and the aim is to reach 2 lakh trees, according to a press release.

Additionally, a Green Diwali campaign is being launched on the Heartfulness social media platforms with the theme, Have a sapling Diwali and Give Green a Chance – Radiate the Light.
