Hyderabad: Following the death of Assistant Sub-inspector K Narasimha, the Balapur police booked a case of abetment to commit suicide against V Saidulu, former inspector of Balapur, a sub-inspector and three constables.
K Narasimha, Assistant Sub-Inspector working at the Manchal police station who attempted immolation ten days ago, died while undergoing treatment at the Apollo DRDO in Kanchanbagh on Monday morning.
A case was booked against Saidulu, SI Venkat Reddy, constables M Dasarath, Jalandhar and Srisailam under sections of the Indian Penal Code and being investigated.
The ASI had suffered 70 percent burns after attempting self-immolation on November 21 alleging harassment from his superior.
Following the incident, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat had ordered LB Nagar DCP Sunpreet Singh to investigate the issue and also attached Saidulu and constable M Dasarath to the Armed Reserve (AR) headquarters, Amberpet, pending an enquiry.
Narasimha’s relatives started protesting at the hospital and approached the police again demanding that Saidulu and Dasarath be suspended and action taken.
