Hyderabad: A woman, who claimed she was working as a dancer in a bar in the city, approached the Punjagutta police early on Saturday alleging that she was disrobed and assaulted by her colleagues after a quarrel in the bar.

The woman, who earlier worked as a junior film artist, had joined the Bar at Somajiguda in January. She said she, along with other women, danced to entertain customers at the bar. On Friday night, following an argument with four other women who also worked there, she said she was beaten up by them and a man.

“The four women along with one Syed, who is a rowdy sheeter, beat me up and disrobed me. Later, I called the police control room and a police vehicle brought me to the police station,” she said. The woman claimed that she along with the other women performed dance in the bar in the nights. “Customers offered us tips for performing to film songs,” she told media persons.

Following her complaint, the Punjagutta police registered a case and took up investigation. The police are making efforts to nab the four women and Syed.
