Hyderabad: Bibliophiles in the city have a reason to rejoice as the annual National Hyderabad Book Fair (HBF) is back. The 30th edition of the popular book fair organised by the Hyderabad Book Fair Society was inaugurated on Thursday at NTR Stadium.

With Telangana literature and children’s book collections as the main focus, the event will be on till December 26. About 290 book stalls from leading authors and publishers are part of the event which is expected to be visited by over 10 lakh book lovers, said the organisers. “There is a separate writers’ hall where visitors can meet their favourite authors,” Chandramohan, General Secretary of HBF said.

While there would be books on different genres and themes, organisers said that the focus will be on Telangana literature and other regional languages this time. Literary events being organised during the fair will feature prominent speakers such as Goreti Linganna, N. Gopi, B. Narsing Rao, Suddala Ashok Teja and others.

As in the past, there would be a cultural programme every day and also a book release function. Drawing and painting competitions too would be held during the 12-day fair.
