Hyderabad city gearing up for Lok Sabha elections

Hyderabad: Elaborate arrangements were being made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of coming Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad, said M Dana Kishore, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO), here on Tuesday.

Dana Kishore along with City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar, held a meeting with officials and reviewed the arrangements for the polls.

While Musheerabad, Amberpet, Khairtabad, Jubilee Hills, Sanath Nagar, Nampally and Secunderabad Assembly constituencies come under Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, the constituencies of Malakpet, Karwan, Goshamahal, Charminar, Chandrayanguta, Yakatpura and Bahadurpura Assembly segments fall under Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. However, Secunderabad Cantonment come under the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, he said.

The Hyderabad District Joint Collector will be officiating as Returning Officer (RO) for Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency and Hyderabad District Collector will be the Returning Officer for Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, he said.

Deputy Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Revenue Divisional Officers were designated as Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) for every Assembly segment, he added. Anjani Kumar said that ACP-rank officers were appointed as Police Nodal Officers.
