Hyderabad cops seek 10-day custody of Ravi Prakash

The court has posted the matter to Thursday. According to the police, Ravi Prakash allegedly withdrew Rs 18 crore in the name of bonus and ex-gratia without the knowledge of the company.

Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police, who arrested former TV9 CEO V Ravi Prakash on Saturday on charges of cheating and fraudulently withdrawing huge sums from the bank accounts of the company and misappropriating the funds, filed a petition in the Nampally criminal court complex on Wednesday seeking his 10-day custody.

The court has posted the matter to Thursday. According to the police, Ravi Prakash allegedly withdrew Rs 18 crore in the name of bonus and ex-gratia without the knowledge of the company.

Based on a complaint lodged by G Singa Rao, the whole time director, Associated Broadcasting Company Private Limited (ABCL), the police booked a case against journalist-CEO of TV9 Ravi Prakash and its former CFO MKVN Murthy under Sections 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker, merchant or agent), 418 (Cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may ensue to person whose interest offender is bound to protect) and 420 (Cheating) of IPC and arrested Ravi Prakash.
