Hyderabad: Telangana State Wakf Board has decided to renovate the city’s oldest shrine Dargah Hazrath-e-Yousufain and call for tenders to take up works for reconstruction of Wazu Khana, Niyaz Khana, Sama Khana and the toilets. The renovation works are expected to be completed in next six months.
Wakf Board Chairman, Mohammed Saleem said the board meeting unanimously took the decision to develop the shrine which is visited by millions of devotees from across the country round the year. Dargah Yousufain has been a symbol of Telangana’s composite Ganga Jamuni culture and irrespective of faith, followers came here, he said.
Security measures would also be enhanced at the Dargah and repairing of the CCTV cameras has already been done by the technical staff. “We have asked Habeeb Nager police to depute a team here as nearby areas are always crowded,” he said. A team of guards were appointed by the Board to monitor the security aspects, Saleem added.
