Hyderabad: Decomposed body of murdered woman found

Hyderabad: The decomposed body of an unidentified woman, apparently murdered, was found near the lake near Central Power Research Institute in Medipally on Tuesday morning. Locals found the body in an isolated spot and informed the police.

According to the Medipally police, the victim appeared to be aged between 30 and 35 years. The body was in a highly decomposed state and more importantly, the limbs were tied up.

“Her hands and legs were tied with rope. She may have been murdered about a month ago and her body dumped here. The face has decomposed beyond recognition and the body cannot be shifted to the hospital for an autopsy. A spot autopsy was conducted by forensic doctors from the Gandhi Hospital,” said K Jaganath Reddy, Inspector Medipally, adding that the viscera and skull were collected for further examination. The remains were handed over to municipal authorities for last rites.

A case of murder and trying to destroy evidence under the relevant sections of the IPC was booked and is being probed.
