Hyderabad: Cyberabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SM Vijay Kumar has warned the delivery boys working for Swiggy, Foodpanda and Zomato along with Ola bikers of stern action if they continue to drive their vehicles in violation of norms.

With an intention to deliver food to customers on time, these delivery boys were indulging in rash driving. Most of these boys were found to be jumping signals and driving in wrong route thus creating problems to pedestrians and other motorists.

“We came to know about the violations committed by the delivery boys. If they continue to drive in a negligent manner, stern action will be taken against them,” he said.

Vijay Kumar said the traffic police have been receiving complaints about various violations committed by motorists especially auto rickshaw drivers. It was found that many drivers were driving auto rickshaws with improper, incomplete and damaged number plates, number plates covered with grease, oil or paint and intentionally using duplicate number plates.

Auto rickshaw drivers were found to be driving erratically and parking their vehicles in haphazard manner at several stretches. Vijay Kumar asked the auto drivers to adhere to norms and drive their vehicles without causing problems to others.
