Hyderabad: Doctor of UHC held for harassing nurse

Hyderabad: A doctor of an Urban Prime Health Centre in Serilingampally was arrested on charges of harassing a staff nurse of the same centre, police said here on Tuesday.

Last week, the Cyberabad SHE teams received a complaint from the nurse,working in the centre for the last five years, that the in-charge Dr.Ram Reddy called her into his cabin and misbehaved with her. She approached the SHE team who caught him and handed over to the Chandanagar police. A case was booked. He was arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

In the last fortnight, the Cyberabad SHE Teams caught as many as 54 persons for harassing women. Of them, nine were minors.

According to the SHE teams officials, a total of 110 complaints from different means including WhatsApp, HawkEye and e-mail were received and all of them were attended.

A total of 52 cases have been registered out of which 16 are criminal cases and 36 are petty cases, they said.

In another case, two youngsters, Prasad and Mahendra who worked at an ice-cream shop in Gachibowli were caught for stalking a woman who was attending coaching classes at Madhapur. They were arrested by the Gachibowli police.

Officials said the special drive and decoy operations would continue.
