Hyderabad: Marri Laxman Reddy Engineering College organised a free Hepatitis B vaccine campaign on Wednesday. During the campaign in Gowdavalli, Nuthankall and Sreerangapuram villages, all students of the government schools were given first dose of Hepatitis B vaccine.
Malkajgiri MP, Ch Malla Reddy initiated a survey in all the government schools and helped students receive free Hepatitis B vaccine so that no child fell ill due to diseases. Due to the high cost of the vaccine, it was difficult for the villagers to afford it, the college management in release on Wednesday said.
Under the guidance of Secunderabad Metropolitan Round Table 118, the campaign was conducted, it said, adding that more than 1,500 students were given vaccine free of cost. Malla Reddy, Rajshekar Reddy, secretary- Marri Laxman Reddy Engineering College expressed happiness over helping the students.
NIMS doctor Navath Chandra, Abhishek , core member of the Secunderabad Metropolitan Round Table-118, teachers of schools, principals, Sarpanch of the respective villages also participated in the campaign.
