Hyderabad: Gold and silver bars worth Rs.45 lakh seized by Railway Police

The arrested duo was caught at platform number six when they came to the Secunderabad railway station in Jaipur express.

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday arrested two persons for possessing gold and silver bars worth Rs.45 lakh without proper documents.

Ten gold biscuits weighing 1 kg and 30 kg silver bars were seized from the possession of arrested persons Vishal Raja Ram Varma and Nikhil Govinda Verma, both natives of Itwara in Nanded Town of Maharashtra.

The duo was caught at platform number six when they came to the Secunderabad railway station in Jaipur express.

Information was given to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Income Tax officials to find the origin of the seized gold and silver bars, said Secunderabad (GRP) Superintendent of Police G. Ashok Kumar.
