Hyderabad: Fun and excitement of Sankranti festival in the city reached a crescendo with kites of different sizes, concepts, colours and designs, dotting the skies at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Tuesday.

On the second day of the International Kite and Sweet Festival, kite flyers drawn from across the country and those from 13 countries showcased their kite flying skills, much to the amusement and cheers of the large crowd which had gathered at the venue to watch them in action. Ranging from small to large, the kites came in a wide, varied and interesting forms designed as lizard, dragon, ninja and so on.

While Tuesday saw a large gathering for the kite festival, the crowds were expected to swell further on the Sankranti day i.e., Wednesday, which happens to be the last day of three-day festivities.

In addition to kite flying, the ongoing sweet festival at the venue was also a favoured stop for many to indulge in a host of sweets on display. Given the varied items, not only Indian but also from some foreign countries, the visitors had a lot to choose from.
