Hyderabad: A 32-year-old man, who was reported missing from Hyderabad last week, was found hanging in the Parbati Valley of Kullu, Himachal Pradesh earlier this week.

The man, identified as Akula Ram Manohar, was a resident of Alwal in the city and a native of Ramagundam. According to his friends, Ram Manohar had told his family that he was going to Khammam, and when he did not return after a few days, they had lodged a missing complaint with the police.

In the meanwhile, trekkers and villagers in the Thunja Village in Parbati Valley found his body hanging from a tree on Monday. They alerted the police, who reached the spot and identified him based on his identity card from the spot. The body, which was shifted to the Kullu Hospital for autopsy, was sent to Hyderabad later.

The funeral was held at Ramagundam on Friday morning, according to his friends, who said Ram Manohar was suspected to have been facing financial stress recently.

He was earlier living in Tarnaka, from where he shifted to Alwal a few years ago. He was involved in financial trading, where he suffered heavy losses, one of his friends said.

Ram Manohar is survived by his wife Sravani.

The Kullu police, who suspect a suicide, have registered a case and are investigating whether he had gone there alone, or whether he was accompanied by someone.
