Hyderabad: Man gets 10 year RI for raping 7-year-old

The man was sentenced to seven years RI for kidnapping and 10-years RI for raping the minor, said Additional Public Prosecutor T Padma Latha Reddy.

Hyderabad: A local court here on Tuesday sentenced a 38-year-old keymaker to 10-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in August 2012 and him.
First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Suneetha Kunchala convicted the keymaker after he was found guilty of kidnapping and raping the girl. The man was sentenced to seven years RI for kidnapping and 10-years RI for raping the minor, said Additional Public Prosecutor T Padma Latha Reddy. The sentences will run concurrently.

According to prosecution, in August 2012, the man, who stayed in the neighbourhood of the girl, lured her by offering her chocolates and took her on his bike and violated her. He was arrested in September 2012.

The girl’s statement, along with a report from Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory, and identification of the accused by the girl helped in proving the accused guilty, the public prosecutor added.
