Hyderabad Metro Rail announces 10% discount on Smart Card trips

L&T has also issued a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers. In addition to the discount, Paytm is offering a flat Rs. 20 cash back on the first time recharge of Rs.100 or more per card for passengers recharging their Smart Card through Paytm.

Hyderabad: The overwhelming response and patronage from the people of Hyderabad to the Metro Rail has prompted L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited to announce a 10 per cent discount on all trips made through Smart Cards up to March 31 next year.

In addition to the discount, Paytm is offering a flat Rs. 20 cash back on the first time recharge of Rs.100 or more per card for passengers recharging their Smart Card through Paytm, an L&T release said.

Smart Cards can be purchased from ticketing offices at the stations and they can be recharged either at the stations or through the TSavaari mobile app, Paytm and the HMR Passenger website or by using the Add Value Machine (AVM) located in the paid area on the station concourse.

The statement also saw L&T issuing a list of Frequently Asked Questions and their answers. These include:

Q: Train Timings:
A: First train starts at 6am from Nagole, Miyapur and Ameerpet stations. Last train starts at 10pm hrs from Nagole to Ameerpet and Miyapur to Ameerpet stations.

Q: Frequency:
A: Every 8 minutes from Miyapur to Ameerpet and every 16 minutes from Nagole to Ameerpet. We are exploring the options of reducing the time within the statutory requirements.

Q: Fake Tokens
A: These are test tokens used by the Operations & Maintenance team of L&T Metro Rail for testing Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system. These are mixed with the original tokens and are taken back from the system in due course.

Q: Water
A: Water dispensing kiosks are set up in stations for passengers.

Q: Restrooms
A: Restrooms are available in the unpaid area of the concourse and passengers are allowed to cross over from one side of the concourse to the other by informing the station staff for using the restrooms.

Q: Dustbins
A: Due to security reasons metro rail stations can’t have dustbins.

Q: Announcements
A: Announcements are automatic but emergency announcements are triggered by station staff for the safety of the passengers.

Q: Parking
A: In addition to the parking space provided by the Government, LTMRHL has parking facilities for passengers at Nagole, Parade Grounds, Rasoolpura, Balanagar, Kukatpally and Miyapur.
